Built in 1937 and opened in 1939, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is one of Canada's Grand Railway Hotels constructed in the late 19th and early 20th century to complement the creation of the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railway Systems. This beautiful, Gothic Revival-style building is known locally as the "Castle in the City".
